Co-Alliance Makes Impact at Indiana FFA Convention
Jun 24, 2023
It has been a full and fun week celebrating the Indiana FFA Organization and its members at the 94th Indiana FFA Convention. Co-Alliance was thrilled to be a part of this huge event. Many Co-Alliance employees were involved in various activities throughout the week. We are grateful for the opportunity to tell our farmer-owned story, facilitate a panel with employees, and show off our FFA Proud! fuel transport truck.
What If College Isn't For Me?
Co-Alliance had an opportunity to host an interactive workshop with nearly 130 FFA members, which spotlighted the many work-ready career opportunities for those who may not desire to go to college. The 4-person panel was comprised of Co-Alliance employees who have capitalized on their career opportunities within agricultural without obtaining a 4- year college degree. “We’re certainly not discouraging college, but we also want this generation to hear that you don’t have to go to college in order to be successful within Co-Alliance,” says employee Brandon Bowser. Co-Alliance employees shared their personal experiences and advice with students who are ready to get to work and blaze a trail of their own.

This year the panelists were: LP Sales Representative Jimmy King, Grain Merchandising Manager Brandon Bowser, Reagan Agronomy Manager Bradley Baker, and Credit & Finance Specialist Tricia Jurs.
Lauren Taylor, Digital Marketing Specialist, did a fantastic job taking questions from the audience to moderate the panel.
Our panelists gave great advice to students! Check out these pictures from the workshop:
Co-Alliance is FFA Proud!
Our FFA Proud! Semi Truck was parked near Memorial Mall on Wednesday of Convention. This trailer is part of our $25,000 donation to the Indiana FFA Foundation. This is one of two fuel trucks that has traveled over 100,000 miles across the state fueling homes, businesses, and farms with CountryMark fuel. It also has participated in many rural community events. FFA members got a chance to take some amazing pictures with the fuel truck.
Career & Internship Opportunities
Co-Alliance's Human Resource team was also present this year at the trade show talking with FFA members about internship and career opportunities. And of course, they handed out all sorts of goodies.
Serving the Community
Co-Alliance joined the district chapters on stage at the Second General Session to present the Living to Serve Chapter awards, which Co-Alliance also sponsored this year. As a cooperative, part of our mission is to give back locally. Co-Alliance is proud to sponsor this award that recognizes those chapters who have made serving in their community an important part of their FFA Chapter’s mission. This years winners for community service: Crothersville 1st, Tipton 2nd, North Montgomery 3rd, Shenandoah 4th, Morristown 5th, Whiteland 6th, South Putnam 7th, Tri-County 8th, Clinton Central 9th, Maconaquah 10th, Owen Valley 11th, Indian Creek 12th.
All is Fair in Love and FFA!
This year, Co-Alliance decided to put on a scavenger hunt for the FFA members who attended the State Convention to interact with the FFA members through Co-Alliances social media pages! FFA members had a blast searching for the hidden treasures across Purdue’s Campus.
Day 1: Co-Alliance Hat
Hint - The namesake of the university.
Day 2: T-shirt
Hint - Secret has it Boilermakers drink out of this fountain for good luck on a test.
Day 3: Co-Alliance Hat
Hint- It's rumored that any student who walks underneath it will not graduate in 4 years.
Would you have been able to locate these hidden treasures? Make sure you check out Co-Alliance's social media to see the results!
