Life-Saving Training Serves Scircleville Area

Mar 17, 2023
As we gear up for another planting season, our commitment to safety doesn’t waiver. We know that accidents can happen any time and anywhere, that’s why we work to canvas our trade territory with tools and knowledge required to help when there is an urgent need. That's the cooperative spirit.

This week our Scircleville location hosted grain safety training with our grain entrapment simulator. This event was planned with the Johnson Township Fire Department, the Michigan Township Fire Department, and the Forest Volunteer Fire Deparment which services the Scircleville area, which is about 40 miles north of Indianapolis.

During this event, Co-Alliance trained approximately 30 firefighters from 3 different departments.

"Rural Clinton County is serviced by great volunteers, many of whom come from farming backgrounds or work for our farmer owners. When a grain entrapment occurs, seconds matter and making sure Grain Rescue equipment and proper training to our local volunteer fire departments is a top priority for our grain and safety divisions,” said Tom Blackwell, Associate Grain Merchandiser.

In true Co-Alliance fashion, we also fed the crew that was trained. Tom Blackwell, Clint Noyes, and Dave Johnson, all Co-Alliance grain employees, initiated this training. Brad McCord of our Safety team facilitated the training.

This week we invite you to take a look at the many photos taken throughout the event.
