Welcome, 2022 Field Techs

Schools out for summer (don’t you hate it when a song gets stuck in your head?) and that means that Co-Alliance has welcomed an excellent group of college students to our team for the next couple months.
 
Annually we’re in search of students to act as Field Scouts for our agronomy business. Forty-three students comprise our 2022 Field Tech team, and we say confidently they’re one of the greatest assets we have. This team will walk and scout more than 200,000 acres this summer!
   
What will they be doing this summer on behalf of the co-op? They’re the eyes and feet in the field!
 
They will:

• Identify Weeds, Insects, Diseases, and Deficiencies.
• Utilize the newest scouting technology on the market.
• Network with salesman, coordinators, and agronomist.
• Communicate with the team to share issues they encounter in the field.
• Adapt and learn agronomy knowledge as the season changes/progresses.
• And more!

Why are they so valuable? Because we service a lot of acres and these people help us get it done. They’re an extension of our sales team, constantly finding ways to be of service to the customer. Often they catch problems before they become disasters by identifying weeds, insects, diseases, and deficiencies to ensure we advise growers correctly in managing their crop. They also help us confirm that our products are doing the job they are supposed to by double checking our recommendations. 
  This truly is an opportunistic summer experience for this group. It’s a way for Co-Alliance to assist in teaching the next generation of farmers. It’s also a fantastic way for the Field Tech to get real-world experience before they hit the work force.
 
We welcome all 43 Field Techs and look forward to the summer with this crew!
